After completing her master’s degree and a one-year research stay at the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Potsdam and the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin, she earned her doctorate in human and environmental toxicology at the 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】 of Konstanz in 2009. Alongside her doctoral studies, Prof. Stemmer undertook additional training as a specialist toxicologist from the German Society of Toxicology (DGPT) and obtained European registration as a toxicologist (ERT). After serving as a postdoctoral fellow at the Metabolic Diseases Institute of the 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】 of Cincinnati in the USA, she returned to Germany in 2012 to become group leader at the Institute for Diabetes and Obesity at the Helmholtz Center in Munich. During the same time, she completed her habilitation at the 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】 of Konstanz and was awarded the venia legendi for pharmacology and toxicology in 2018. In 2020, she was appointed Professor at the Faculty of 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】icine at the 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】 of Giessen. Since 2021, Ms. Stemmer has held the position of Professor of Molecular Cell Biology at the Institute of Theoretical 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】icine at the 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】 of Augsburg.
