Prof. Dr. Nadine Schwierz establishes a new research direction in theoretical physics: Computational Biology.

Since March 1, Prof. Dr. Nadine Schwierz is professor for Computational Biology at the Institute of Physics. Her research addresses the description of biological systems using computer simulations. The aim of her research is to understand the structure and functioning of biomolecules at the molecular level.

Life relies on the interactions of proteins, nucleic acids, lipids and other biomolecules. This course introduces computational methods to study the structure, dynamics and mechanics of these biomolecules.
