Tips for International Students - How do I finance my studies in Germany?
The university charges a fee per semester for the semester ticket and the student union fee. You can find the current amount of the fees here.
No fees are currently charged at our university.
You will need about 900 Euros per month to finance your living expenses. Of course, this amount is a guideline; the actual expenses depend on the amount of rent you pay and your consumer behaviour.
Composition of monthly costs:
|Rent||at least 300 Euros|
|Broadcasting fee||approx. 20 Euros|
|Health insurance||approx. 130 Euros|
|Food||approx. 200 Euros|
|Clothing, study materials, other needs||approx. 150 Euros|
If you need a visa, you must already prove that your livelihood is secured in Germany when you apply for the visa in your home country.
