As part of its ongoing initiative to strengthen science communication, the university’s Communications and Marketing team organized a visually and thematically compelling presence at the world’s largest trade fair for interactive entertainment.

A special highlight of the stand was the playful and interactive insight into current research. During the first three days, students from the Chair of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence presented their work through a custom-developed VR game designed specifically for the Apple Vision Pro. Visitors had the opportunity to try out the latest in VR technology and immerse themselves in a unique interactive experience – a true crowd-puller.

On the weekend, the Chair of Mechatronics took over the booth’s research program. Equipped with multiple 3D printers and a custom AI-powered application, the team enabled visitors to create and print their own 3D figures right at the stand. This hands-on offering sparked high levels of interest – not only among gaming enthusiasts, but also among tech-savvy young people and families. There were over 500 interactions with the exhibits.

In total, the booth team recorded over 800 individual consultations and more than 5,400 visitor interactions. The majority of inquiries focused on study programs in the field of computer science, but there was also significant interest in other areas such as teacher training, midwifery science, and mathematics.
