Filmreihe "Sociology meets Documentary Film"
Von Dezember 2024 bis Ende Januar 2025 ist Prof. Dr. Hermílio Santos Gast am Lehrstuhl für Soziologie und am Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum.
Prof. Santos ist Professor für Soziologie an der renommierten Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in Porto Alegre, Brasilien, und hat eine originelle Verbindung von soziologischer Forschung und soziologischen Dokumentarfilmen entwickelt. In seiner Forschung besch?ftigt sich Prof. Santos mit Themen wie der transnationalen Zirkulation soziologischer Wissensbest?nde und Theorien, Gewalt, Kindheit und Jugend, Favelas, Sklaverei, dem Alltagsleben von Offshore-Arbeitern auf ?lplattformen sowie den Lebenswelten von schwarzen und indigenen Frauen, wobei er diese oft in Form von soziologischen Dokumentarfilmen aufarbeitet.
